Learn MoreFoxboro 40M series recorders, indicators and controllers
These instruments are used wherever accurate chart records, precise indications, or control of the measured
variable are required for efficient process management. A wide variety of Foxboro field-proven and dependable
measuring elements are used to receive the measured signal
The 40M Series Recorders and Indicators continuously record or indicate measurement of one
or more process variables. They provide high accuracy, local reading, and fast response to the
measured signal change. They accommodate up to four pens, or one or two pointers.
The 40M Series Controllers receives mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical inputs from an integrallymounted
measuring or receiving element; compare it to a set point; and as a function of the control mode,
produce a standard pneumatic output signal to modulate a remote final operator that may be as far
as 100 m (300 ft) distant. They control one or two measurements, and either record or indicate the
variable.

Foxboro 40P pressure recorders, indicators and controllers
These instruments are used wherever precise chart records, indication, or control of pressure measurement is
required for efficient process management.
These instruments either record on a circular chart, or indicate on a sector scale or concentric scale. The
recorders and sector scale indicators are available with up to four pens and two pointers, respectively.
The concentric scale indicator is available with one pointer.
The controllers control one or two measurements and either record or indicate the variable. The control
elements transmit a standard pneumatic signal to a final operator that may be as far as one hundred
metres (three hundred feet) distant.

Foxboro 130 series pneumatic indicating controller
These controllers are designed for high-density control room mounting and are used wherever precise control is required for efficient process management.
The basic controller is the 130M Series featuring manual set point adjustment. The 130P Series is
similar to the 130M except that the set point is pneumatically adjusted by a remote signal. The 130F
Series is similar to the 130M except that it includes a Remote/Local switch which allows either manual or
pneumatic adjustment of the set point.

Foxboro 716C 1/16 DIN Temperature controller
The Foxboro 716C is a powerful compact,1/16 DIN, microprocessor-based temperature controller that offers a variety of standard features commonly found only as options with other models.
FEATURES
• Dual 4-digit LED display
• Universal input (T/C, RTD, mV, V, mA)
• Adaptive Auto-Tune
• NEMA 4X
• UL, CSA rating
• PID control with 0 to 20 mA or 4 to 20 mA
control signal
• Time proportional control
• Safety lock-out function prevents unauthorized
configuration
• Two independent set points selectable from
external input contact
• Up to two independent alarms configurable
with automatic or manual reset
• Instrument configurable by keyboard or through
serial link
• Output “Turn Off” function, turns off the output
and allows the controller to operate as an
indicator
• Opto-isolated RS-485 serial communication
interface with Modbus (optional)
• 24 V ac/dc supply (optional)
• Conforms to the applicable European Union
directives (symbolized by the “CE” Logo
marking on the product)
The 716C offers advanced features, usually found
in higher priced models, enabling quick start-ups,
safe operation, and precise measurement readings.
Quick Start-Ups
The 716C is equipped with a proprietary self-tuning
algorithm, SMART (see Figure 1). During start-up
and control, the SMART algorithm continuously
monitors the process variable and automatically
adjusts the PlD parameters according to the
response of the process variable. The advantage of
this continuous self-tuning algorithm is its ability to
operate without injecting any artificial change into
the system
Foxboro 718 1/8 DIN process controller
The 718PL and 718PR provide high performance, reliability, and quality in a 1/8 DIN size. Packed with power,
the 718P process controllers include advanced features usually seen only in higher priced models.
Sampling time and output updating time equal
to 150 ms (718PL)
• Bumpless Adaptive Auto-Tuning, dynamically
calculates PID values
• PID Controller with two programmable ramp
and soak functions
• Remote set point input (718PR)
• Anti-windup protection
• Timer functions
• Friendly man/machine interface by proprietary
back-lighted LCD display
• Conforms to the applicable European Union
directives (symbolized by the “CE” Logo
marking on the product)
Modbus RS-485 serial interface (718PL only)
provides communication to I/A Series for
Windows NT when data collection capabilities and
remote operation are needed.
The 718PL/718PR controllers have four control
modes of operation:
• Continuous control with 0-20 or 4-20 mA output
• Time proportional with relay outputs
• Control with SSR logic voltage drive
• Control with servomotor output
